![]() ![]() ![]() Among the most popular model ships are the Bismarck, the U.S.S. The military ships are always based on a very exciting story, which can be read in a short summary by clicking on the desired product. In addition to sailing ships and civilian ships, the Revell Modellbau range also includes several military ships and submarines. Attractive military ships and submarines in the shop Among the civilian ships that are available in the wide-ranging model shop of Revell in miniature format are the AIDA, the Queen Mary 2 and also the Queen Elizabeth 2. She is probably the most famous passenger ship in the world and everyone knows her demise - not least because of the famous film that deals with the tragedy. Titanic should be mentioned in this context. Of course, especially historically significant models are very popular. Just as popular as sailing ships are civil ships in miniature format. Bounty or the legendary Santa Maria are waiting for lovers of high-quality model sailing ships. Many other well-known ship models like the H.M.S. For model building professionals there are also very complex sailing ships like the Black Pearl from the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". Beginners are well advised to use simple kits like the Spanish Galleon. At Revell Modellbau there are some model sailing ships to buy, which convince qualitatively and visually all around. This is mainly due to the protruding sails. They do not only offer special craft fun but also form a beautiful eye-catcher in the home four walls. One of the most popular model ships is undoubtedly a sailing ship. Sailing ships - the model building classics In both cases, Revell's true-to-detail model ships are a special challenge for hobbyists and a beautiful eye-catcher in the private glass cabinet or on the bookshelf. Others are enthusiastic about certain types of ships, such as sailing ships, military ships or submarines, and are interested in the looks and functions of these fascinating means of transport. They want to cross the seas of this world and enjoy the magnificent view of the wild waves. I also consider this kit to be reasonably priced because the brass photo etch detail fret is included in the kit and therefore the builder does not have to purchase any additional aftermarket PE for this build. Many people dream of an extended boat trip. Therefore, I would recommend this kit for advanced to intermediate model builders with patience, steady hands and good vision. ![]() This was due to the photo etch parts installation which was time consuming and tedious. As I had built the Revell Germany 1/144 Type VIIC/41 Atlantic Version kit prior to this build, I felt that the Trumpeter kit was the more challenging of these kits to build. For wire insulators I placed blobs of Micro Clear in appropriate locations on the rigging and then painted them flat black after the blobs had cured. I used EZ Line, fine black thread to rig this U-boat. I used Tamiya Brown Panel liner and Tamiya Weathering Sets to provide a stressed paint look to the hull on this model. I decided to glue the name plate to the side of the model stand because the model would not stay upright on the stand alone. Painting the letters on the name plate was tedious, but I was able to do it to an acceptable degree. I used an airbrush to paint the three historically accurate colors on the model to make the notorious U-boat 552. Although I was initially skeptical regarding the paint call outs for this kit, after some research, I found them to be accurate. Photoetch parts installation was time consuming and tedious, but worth the effort. I used a toothpick to manipulate the crosses with which to complete the swastikas on the flag. The best way to make these flags is to mount them on aluminum foil using Micro Set. Two Kriegsmarine flag decals are provided to permit the builder to create either a flat rectangular flag or a slightly drooping furled flag. The manufacturer added crosses to the decal sheet allowing the builder to complete the swastikas on the two Kreigsmarine flags provided in the kit. A net cutter and bow saw are provided as photo etch detail parts and they look excellent and true to scale. Other fine detail PE parts are used to enhance the 88 mm deck gun and the anti-aircraft gun on the platform behind the periscope tower. This kit is truer to scale than the Revell Germany 1/144 Type VII-C U-Boat kit because this Trumpeter kit has photo etch main deck and conning tower rail parts. The Trumpeter 1/144 DKM Type VII-C U-Boat is a relatively recent 2021 release from this company. ![]()
